Cee Cee loves to have adventures and take pictures, and now shell get to do both! Not to mention, getting to visit one of her favorite family members. Cee Cee arrives in Beijing with her family, excited about her first successful trip on an airplane and ready to learn about Chinese culture. They begin with a stop at a local restaurant to watch noodles being made-and to watch Cee Cees little brother Jay try to eat a noodle thats almost as tall as he is. Their next adventure is to the Great Wall of China for sightseeing and a history lesson, where Cee Cee learns that the Great Wall is the longest man-made structure in the world-and how long it might take to walk its entire distance! When they come down from the Great Wall and head to the local market, Cee Cee is excited to see all of the colorful scarves, pieces of jewelry, and handmade items spread out around her. Now, she just needs to find the perfect souvenir for her trip. When they come upon a group of people practicing Tai Chi, Cee Cee learns that its a little harder than it looks. As their day winds down, Uncle Phil takes the family to visit some of his friends, a local Chinese family who will cook dinner for them. There, Cee Cee gets to help in the dinner preparations with the familys ten-year-old daughter, Ling. When Cee Cee realizes that she will have to eat her dinner with chopsticks, Ling steps in to teach her. Cee Cee cant believe her luck-a trip to Beijing, and a new friend! The girls agree that theyll stay in touch and send letters when Cee Cee gets home. When its time to leave, Cee Cee thinks back on all the fun she has had, everything shes learned, and the great people shes met. Her dream is to travel around the whole world, and her trip to Beijing has been the perfect start. She cant wait to see what else is out there and meet more new friends on even more adventures.
